I don't run much of a 'business' on eBay, but I have started selling some things to help me start saving up for a motorcycle. The easiest way to sell stuff on eBay is to throw a free item in. It makes people feel like they are getting a better deal. I may not be making as big of a profit as I would be just selling the item alone, but I make a lot more sales that way. Also, smoking accessories sell very quickly and can be sold at a pretty good mark up.
I've recently started mturk. I've made just over $200 over the past 5 weeks, with about 2-3 hours a day. The more you do, the more opportunity and "jobs" become available, as some require specific approval ratings. One that I personally enjoy is transcribing audio, which I just became approved to do. Anywhere from $.08 to $.15 for typing 15-30 seconds of audio. Some pay better.
Join a startup accelerator: Another great option is to apply to a startup accelerator like Y Combinator, 500 startups, or TechStars, where a group of investors will help coach you, connect you with potential partners, and provide startup cash in return for a small stake in your company. The competition is tough to get into these, so don’t rely on them as your only path forward.
Upwork: This website offers a great marketplace for selling just about any professional service. You don't need a merchant account, website of your own or anything else for that matter. All you need to do is be able to provide a high-quality service at a reasonable price. But be informed, you will have to compete with many others that are constantly bidding on open jobs.

If you know how to adeptly hack into websites, put your skills to use with HackerOne.com, a platform that pays their network of more than 100,000 hackers for finding and reporting software vulnerabilities. According to data on HackerOne's website, 12 percent of their hackers make $20,000 or more per year. Approximately 3 percent of the hackers are making over $300,000, and 1.1 percent are making over $350,000, according to HackerOne.com.
Okay. I know. This isn’t an easy one to implement. Creating a successful smartphone app today, in a field littered with apps, is monumentally difficult. But it’s not just the app creation that’s hard itself, it’s the marketing of that app. With so many apps vying for peoples attention, and so much money to be made by the sheer volume of the industry, it’s no wonder why competition is tremendous.

Active income requires your time and you can only produce as much money as your time allows. For example, a doctor or a lawyer who charge high per-hour or per-consultation fees and make exorbitant amounts of cash are stifled by the amount of time they have in a day. We all have the same 24 hours. Not one person on this earth gets more time than the next. It’s the greatest equalizer in life. When the time you work directly correlates to your income, it’s called active income.
